7. SUPPORT FOR THE POOR IN ISRAEL, THE WEST BANK AND GAZA

The following is a short list of charitable Christian organisations known to the author through whom it is possible to give support to needy Arab and Messianic Jewish believers, or more generally to the poor, irrespective of their beliefs. Readers will need to look at the websites to find out more about them and whether they feel in tune with their particular emphasis. I have given their address and website in the UK, but they may have centres elsewhere.

There are other good Christian charities devoted to supporting believers and children’s work in the West Bank and Gaza. I have not included them in this list out of respect for the fact that they would not wish to be identified with the theological views of the author.

1. The Mount Moriah Trust, P.O. Box 1229, Sandhurst, GU47 7EU
www.mountmoriah.org.uk
This charity works with and through Pastors to relieve poverty and suffering amongst believers in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank. Every pound/dollar donated goes to those in need. No administration expenses are taken out – all the charity’s operating costs, travel and accommodation etc are funded privately.

2. Christian Friends of Israel, P.O. Box 2687, Eastbourne, BN22 7LZ
www.cfi.org.uk
As well as being able to support needy believers, the sister organisation in Jerusalem has a distribution centre for a variety of household goods, clothes (including wedding dresses) and other items.

3. The Joseph Storehouse Trust, P.O. Box 5, Swindon, SN3 4FB
www.josephstorehouse.co.uk
This trust supports the poor in Israel, both Arab and Jewish, with emergency medical supplies, household necessities, clothing and food.
